Bible Passage: Rom 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

We live in a fallen world, and corruption becomes more intense with time. We seem encouraged to do and say whatever our heart desires. We no longer want to please God; instead, we would mock God. The people behind the Olympic mockery of the Last Supper said the depiction did not go far enough. The followers of Christ are being bullied into accepting a lifestyle that many reject.

Our state of affairs saddens me. At a time when we are called to honor God, we see others trying hard to remove or discredit Him. We are closer today to Christ’s second coming and the judgment of humanity than yesterday. This should ignite a fire in our hearts, urging us to prepare to meet Him, not reject His teachings.  We should be proclaiming Christ now more than ever.

Scripture is clear that “every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God.” Today’s words and actions will be judged, even if we embrace its darkness today. The inevitability of this judgment should weigh heavily on our hearts and guide our actions.

God may be mocked today, and Christ discredited as He was while He lived on earth, but our fate will be sealed when we meet Him face to face. We are called to believe in our hearts and confess with our lips as we have the breath of life within us.

I know that these thoughts will challenge many, but that is OK. God would rather have our hearts and minds change now and our lips confess today rather than any suffer hopelessness for all eternity.

Are you walking rightly before God? Is God honored by your words and actions? Do you know where you will spend eternity, and do you care? This moment begins the rest of our lives, and the time remaining is short, so let’s not waste a second. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I am proud to proclaim it because I am a sinner saved by His grace and not by anything I might do or say!
