Bible Passage: Rom 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.
The world is a mess because each of us looks to satisfy ourselves at the cost of others. We want our will to be done. When we look closely at our motives, our anger, frustrations, or even irritations are because what is said or done does not match our desires.
Accepting that our Creator has a perfect plan for humanity seems far-fetched because it does not align with how we want to live. We are so self-absorbed that failing to meet the mark established by God is considered a failure because it makes little sense. We prefer to live as gods rather than surrender anything for any reason.
Life is a gift. We did not choose life; God did. Our pride is our stumbling block. We would rather deny that life is a precious gift from God, so we can continue following the dictates of our heart, doing what we want, when we want.
Our response to God is quite simple. First, we must recognize that God exists. Second, we must accept that our words and actions do not always align with God’s will and purpose for our lives. Third, God is holy and cannot tolerate disobedience in His presence. Fourth, because of disobedience, we need a mediator, Jesus Christ, His Son, to reconcile us with God. Finally, reconciliation is only possible by accepting reconciliation by faith in Jesus.
Our greatest gift is the freedom to choose! We can choose to serve ourselves, God, or others. We can walk obediently by faith in the Spirit or disobey God in the flesh. We can accept or reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Our flesh will always desire the things of the flesh. As followers of Jesus Christ, we must deny our flesh, accept the trials and tribulations of life, and walk humbly before God as Jesus Christ did.
Choose wisely, your life depends upon it!
